Responding to teasing and cyberbullying

Teasing can feel different for each person. If a comment or message is upsetting, you do not have to handle it alone or reply immediately.

Pause and get support
If you can, step away from the conversation before responding. Talk with someone you trust and explain what happened and what kind of help would feel useful.
For online messages, you may choose to keep a record, then use the platform's mute, block or report tools. Avoid sharing hurtful content further. If you feel unsafe or the behaviour continues, ask a trusted person to help you decide what to do next.
You deserve to be treated with respect. A trusted adult, student-support team or qualified professional can help you think through your options.
